Milford Sound Day Tour + Cruise

Milford Sound Day Tour + Cruise

From Te Anau to Milford, along the Milford road, take a small group tour to a spectacular Milford Sound cruise.

Feb 2020: Following a significant weather event in Fiordland, the road to Milford Sound is undergoing repairs and access is currently restricted. No private vehicles are able to drive the Milford road and the only way for you to get to Milford Sound is with a tour operator. Coaches are travelling to Milford Sound in convoy and because of this, some stops along the Milford road will be inaccessible.

Don’t miss out on Milford Sound because of the road restrictions and convoys!

The best way to see Milford Sound right now is with a local

Let us take you on an incredible day out in iconic Milford Sound that includes all the must-see sights and stops on the way.

Milford Sound Road

With a professional driver-guide, sit back and relax and see why this road is considered one of New Zealand’s most spectacular drives. We will take you to as many of our favourite short walks and photo stops as possible as we work around the current road repairs.

Milford Sound Cruise

Exploring Milford Sound by boat is an unforgettable experience. Cruise the 16 km fiord taking in waterfalls, towering mountainsides and perhaps a visit from locals such as fur seals, dolphins and penguins.

With the current Milford road restrictions in place, the details of your boat cruise will be confirmed once you arrive in Milford. As a local business, we work with cruise companies we know will deliver the best Milford cruise experience. And the good news is, Milford Sound is spectacular no matter what boat you are standing on!

Meet your local host

Explore Milford Sound alongside your local host. All our team are gifted storytellers who will share stories of Milford’s vibrant history, flora, fauna, wildlife, and local culture. They’ll also make sure you don’t miss out on any must-do sights.

Why is the Milford road only open to coaches?

In Feb 2020, Fiordland National Park experienced a major weather event which caused significant damage to some sections of the Milford road, as well as damage to sections of the Milford Track, the Routeburn Track and the Hollyford Track. We are all working hard to get these famous Fiordland experiences back up and running. You can find out what is happening on the Milford road here.
