Purchase our brand new Into Nature Pass and book onto our scheduled water taxi departures to the Kepler Track and Milford Track as many times this season as your feet can handle. Walkers, runners and sightseers all welcome with these day trips.

Adventures for Into Nature Pass Holders for Day Walks
- Option 1: 10km Round the Bay Brod Bay to Te Anau - 10km, 2.5 hrs one way

Catch the Kepler Water Taxi to Brod Bay departing at 8.30am, 9.30am, 10.30am, or 2.30pm then enjoy an easy-going 2.5 hour (10km) walk or trail run back to Te Anau. This trail follows the lakefront through native bush on the Kepler Track, linking up with the Lake2Lake cycle trail and the Te Anau Bird Park. Easy day walk option for the whole family or trail runners.
- Option 3: Lunch at Luxmore Brod Bay to Mt Luxmore Hut - 16.5km, 5-6 hrs return

Catch the water taxi to Brod Bay departing at 8.30am, 9.30am or 10.30am, then follow the Kepler Track up to Luxmore Hut for a moderate 5-6 hour return walk (16.5kms). Enjoy your own lunch and the stunning views at the Hut, with maybe some cheeky Kea friends joining you! Then a walk back down to Brod Bay to meet the Kepler Water Taxi departing at 2.45pm or 4.30pm back to the Te Anau Lakefront. This could work in great with your training plan if you are signed up to the annual Luxmore Grunt running event (that takes place here in December).
- Option 4: Luxmore Summit Challenge Brod Bay to Mt Luxmore Summit - 26kms, 7-8 hrs return

Challenge yourself and catch the Kepler Water Taxi to Brod Bay, then walk up to the summit of Mt Luxmore for some very rewarding views of the Te Anau township, and the Insta worthy South Fiord from 1,472m. Allow 7-8 hours return. If you chose this challenge, we recommend that you take the 8.30am Kepler Water Taxi departure from Te Anau Lakefront, and return from Brod Bay on the 2.45pm or 4.30pm. Takes lots of yummy snacks and enjoy!
- Option 6: Milford Sound Day Walk, departing Milford Sound Milford Sound to Giant Gate Falls Day Walk -11km, 3.5 hrs return walk

A short boat journey ride from Deep Water Basin (Milford Sound) to Sandfly Point will have you on the Milford Track for a spectacular day walking experience (departure times 8.30am, 9.30am, 10.30am, 11.45am or 12.30pm). A highlight destination is Giant Gate Falls (3/4 hours return), where you'll find a perfect place for a picnic lunch or a swim in the pools. For the trail runners, an awesome day run up the Arthur Valley and return. Return times from Sandfly Point back to Deep Water Basin are from midday until 4.30pm.
- Option 5: Milford Sound Day Walk, departing Te Anau Downs Te Anau Downs to Clinton Hut Day Walk -10km, 3.5 hrs return walk

A 50-minute boat journey between Te Anau Downs and Glade Wharf will have you on the Milford Track for a spectacular day walk experience. A highlight is following the stunning Clinton River and the first DOC Backcountry Hut, Clinton Hut (5km one way), where you'll find a perfect place for a picnic lunch and a swim in the nearby gin-clear Clinton River.

Into nature pass holders will be able to explore Kepler and Milford Day Walks throughout the Great Walk Season. Dates may vary slightly for each individual experience, please check our track info and scheduled departures through the links below but generally from late October until late April. You do have to prebook
Terms & Conditions
- Season pass valid for our scheduled water taxi departures only (no road transport) for the Great Walks Season 2025/2026 (28 October - 30 April)
- Departure times will be subject to availability
- Not valid for multi-day walks, angler, Milford Track running or hunting transfers. Valid for same day travel only (day walk options only)
- 1 x child can travel free on our water taxis with every adult season pass holder. Child age is up to 14 years.
- Not available to commercial operators. This if recreational users only
- Season passes are non-transferable - only you may use it and you may be asked for ID
- You must pre-book transport online using your unique promo code, which will be emailed after purchasing
- If you book a seat and fail to show, no shows may be charged full fare due to limited availability on our vessels. Please contact our office for any changes/cancellations.
