The Kepler Track begins on the shore of Lake Te Anau and offers some of the best day walking in Fiordland. Catch the Kepler Water Taxi across Lake Te Anau, and you’ll be on the world-famous track in less than 15 minutes ready to tackle your day walk of choice.

- Water taxi service to the Kepler Track

Departing from Te Anau lakefront at 8:30am, 9:30am and 10:30am, take a 15-minute boat ride across Lake Te Anau to Brod Bay and the Kepler Track. From Brod Bay, you have a number of options for walking the track.
- Option 1: 10k Round the Bay Brod Bay to Te Anau - 10km, 2.5 hrs one way

Catch the Kepler Water Taxi to Brod Bay then enjoy an easy-going 2.5 hour (10k) walk back to Te Anau following the lakefront through native bush on the Kepler Track, linking up with the Lake2Lake cycle trail and the Te Anau Bird Park. Easy day walk option for the whole family.
- Option 2: 10k Round the Bay - Reverse Te Anau to Brod Bay - 10km, 2.5 hrs one way

An easy walk from the Te Anau township through the Te Anau Bird Park, along the Lake2Lake cycle trail, and the Kepler Track. Catch the Kepler Water Taxi back to town departing from Brod Bay at 4:30pm (multiple trips may be required). Perfect day walk option for the whole family.
- Option 3: Lunch at Luxmore Brod Bay to Mt Luxmore Hut - 16.5km, 5-6 hrs return

Catch the water taxi to Brod Bay, then follow the Kepler Track up Mount Luxmore for a moderate 5-6 hour return walk (16.5kms). Bring your lunch and enjoy stunning views at Luxmore Hut and walk back down to Brod Bay to meet the Kepler Water Taxi at 4.30pm (multiple trips may be required). Note - There is no food to purchase at Luxmore Hut, you need to bring your own.
- Option 4: Luxmore Summit Challenge Brod Bay to Mt Luxmore Summit - 26kms, 7-8 hrs return

Challenge yourself and catch the Kepler Water Taxi to Brod Bay, then walk up to the summit of Mt Luxmore for very rewarding views of the Te Anau township and the Insta worthy South Fiord from 1,472m. Allow 7-8 hours return. Kepler Water Taxi 8.30am departure is recommended with a 4.30pm return (multiple trips may be required). Note - There is no food to purchase at Luxmore Hut, you need to bring your own.
